We Care Jazz Festival 2015
The We Care Jazz Festival marks the end of 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children. The international campaign, which has been 16 years in the running, aims to unite in one voice, and in doing so, change the lives of rape, domestic violence and child abuse survivors. The annual festival takes place on the 20th of December 2015 in Vereeniging.
The theme of the festival, as it has been in past years, is 'Rise', and encourages survivors to 'rise above'. Another objective of the festival is to equip them for all their future endeavours.
The festival will include the following artists:
- Oliver Mtukudzi
- Ringo
- Tsepo Tshola
- Kunle Ayo
- Zahara
- Naima Kay
- Berita
The festival came into being in late 2012, with the founder's hopes of bringing people together from all walks of life in the fight against abuse. As music is the language of the soul, The We Care Jazz Festival is a day to enjoy being in the company of like-minded individuals and listening to some smooth jazz, while supporting a necessary and worthwhile cause.
